How Successful People Think

By

I’ve been vacationing with family in Idaho this week. And yesterday, as I watched the kids and grandkids play on the river, I was able to really relax and devote some time to thinking.

With the help of my son Joel, I finally figured out how to record and send a voice memo. So I took the opportunity to record some of my thoughts — on thinking.

John C Maxwell on creative thinking and writing

*In my recording, I mention Thinking for a Change. The updated edition of that book is titled How Successful People Think.

My recent message on Robert Schuller’s Crystal Cathedral airs this weekend. Visit the Hour of Power for times and stations, or to watch online.

John..I just saw this post you made and wanted to give you a virtual high five for the influence and impact you and your team have had on my life. I am a 34yr old father of three and husband of the same wife for 12 yrs. Thank you encouraging and sharing your insights with us.

I am selling roofs to hurricane ravaged homeowners here in Houston and beginning to pull my family out of survival mode in this troubled economy..your books and the ministry of catalyst have been motivational to me and have challenged me to be a better leader at home first and in the field of sales that I’m currently in.

I really just wanted to express my gratitude of the example you have shown of leading with integrity and character. God be with you and your family as you continue to bring more lives closer to becoming an active part in his kingdom. Thanks again.

Taking time to think is the first step in anything. Shaping and forming them is the second. Love that advice, if you don’t have a formula it doen’t get done. Hope you are having a lovely time with your family. I’m so impressed that you can send a voice memo on twitter, one of your greatest assets is your voice. It was so nice to see you once again on Hour of Power what a delight. Now we all know who the real God Father is, very important. ( it’s not hot, and i’m not here) God did create the world in six days even the fjords of norway, it really does take two weeks to appreciate them lol. All things are possible when you can feed an entire village stone soup. Dream belivers are common, dream buyers are rare. So glad you are relaxing and devoting time to thinking. Have a great night.

Just watched the Joyce Meyers show with JCM it was very informative. A great way to renew the mind is to watch a program like her’s. When you have a passion deep down inside their ia a God confidence that will come along side of you that will equip you for the task that is ahead. We just need to roll up our sleeves and see what we can do. Life is tough and it does throw us curves and we need to be able to handle them correctly. Whether you have attendencey to be melancholy or attendencey to be a motivator and break out in song, it takes humility to seek understanding and analyze it and then appropriately act on it. Another great message, thanks for sharing.

Great advice Mr. Maxwell. I have been working on several book ideas myself and the hardest thing for me is to stay inspired. I have moments of inspirations and if I stop and write then and there, what comes out is great. Most of the time, I have to speak it out first before I can write (kinda weird, but it works for me). But if I go back later and try to pick it up again, the inspiration may not be there. If I am not feeling it at the time, it’s very hard for me to write. How do you deal with that?
