Greetings from Asia!

June 22nd, 2009 · 20 Comments

It’s Monday evening here in Manila, Philippines. I arrived on Sunday, and since then I’ve been adjusting to the time difference and revisiting the wonderful culture and cuisine here. Although I wasn’t too disappointed to be greeted at the airport with…

Krispy Kreme Donuts!

Yes, my hosts met me with a box of Krispy Kremes. One more reason why this is going to be a fantastic visit to Asia.

At the last minute, Margaret and I decided that she would stay behind. We’re doing some renovations on our home, and we both thought it  wise for her to be available to the contractors. Of course, this means that my hosts here have to put up with me alone – without her gracious presence. But as usual, they are taking great care of me.

Tomorrow (Tuesday) I speak here. Then I’m off to Shanghai, Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, and Kuala Lumpur to talk more about leadership and dreams. I’ll be back on American soil the first week of July.

This isn’t my first visit to this continent, and I truly love teaching in Asia. Even when I experience a language barrier, I can sense the hunger and desire to grow in everyone I meet.

In a few venues, I’ll get a chance to teach on the message of my book, Put Your Dream to the Test. The idea of  examining your dreams has connected in every culture I’ve shared it with so far. And I look forward to seeing people’s reactions here.

If you want to know more about Put Your Dream to the Test, you can use the “look inside” feature on Amazon.com.

I’m trying to share some of my day-to-day experiences via Twitter. So be sure to follow me if you want to stay up-to-date.

Magandang gabi!

(“Good evening” in Tagalog)

(Yes, I had help with that.)

John, I am so delighted to hear your visit to my country, Philippines. Brings back the smell of Krispy Kreme ha ha ha! by the way who was your host? My friend Paul Chase from Alabang New Life Church has your conference in their program, anyway, I love your teaching.

Krispy Kremes?!? That’s got to be an in-tune group! Praying that God gives you favor during all your teaching and 1-on-1 interaction times. Blessings!

    Hi John,

So great to hear about you and your travels, I ordered your Dreamtest material yesterday and I look forward to digesting it. I have learned a lot through your teachings and benefited greatly. Last year I received a 2008 Leadership Award from work. I thank God for you and what He teaches me through you. Love you John, Terry :-)

    Hi John,
I was one of the few thousands who caught your seminar via the simul broadcast system you guys set up.
Iwas at the Alabang New Life Christian Center. I have been in the area of business (marketing and advertising )for close to 25 years, running and managing my own business for 4 years, following my passion for 3.5 and have been a Christian for 3. Whew.
I have read some of your books before, have heard of you in the past and have been guided by your thoughts throughout my business life.
I have heard the same words but for some strange (maybe not so strange) yesterday all of what you said took a whole new meaning in my life.
    God bless you John.

aww… I wish I was there when John Maxwell shared his insights to the Filipinos. I’ve read about him coming over, though there was no chance for me to come over at that time. But I really love his wisdom-filled ideas and leadership inspirationals.

The copy says that JM will be back “on American soil the first week of July.” Perhaps that should be September?

John Maxwell was here was 10 years ago at Cuneta Astrodome and made a great talk about leadership. I was there. I was also fortunate to get him sign some of my books out of the thousand people. The crowd was amazing and the atmosphere was exciting. I was also there the next time he came. Sadly I miss most of the latest ones now and it takes years for him to come back. Now… Can any of you filipino / filipina LEADERS help me or tell me where I could buy Video or Audio here in the country? Books are easy but it gets more exciting to hear him talk. Thanks

And to John, please come back :) and thank you for inspiring us to become leaders…
